MC it.. Pro Tools
Sure, you can compose, record tracks and edit using a keyboard and a mouse but
if you really want to take Pro Tools to the next level let the MC connect you
to your favorite DAW in a way that has never been possible before.

High Speed Ethernet Control via EuCon
The MC connects to your Mac Pro Tools workstation via Ethernet so
control is fast and responsive. A Euphonix MC Client Application on the
Pro Tools
Workstation
translates
the MC's EuCon protocol commands together with the keyboard and trackball
directly into Pro Tools. |
|
 |
MC Can Also Control Other Apps
& Multiple Computers
In today's multi-tasking/multi-application audio production world,
isn't it better to speak many languages? Euphonix does. The MC's control
surface switches every time you bring up a different application - any
application. And the MC can switch control between multiple networked workstations
at the push of a button. |
|
 |
MC's SmartSwitches Speed Up Keyboard Shortcuts
Want to Rename Selected Regions - just twist your fingers around
command+shift+R or simply hit the MC's LCD SmartSwitch labelled Rename
Selected Regions.
With multiple banks of 56 SmartSwitches the MC surface greatly simplifies
and speeds up operation with Pro Tools. |
|
 |
SmartSwitch Macros
When one command just won't do the trick simply string a series of commands
together on a single SmartSwitch. For example, to make a key that adds
24 mono Pro Tools tracks, program a SmartSwitch with - 'Shift-Cmnd-N,
2, 4, Enter' and name it "Add 24 Mono Tks" |
|
 |
Customize & Save Your Own Pro Tools Application
Set
Its dead easy to map keyboard shortcuts to the MC SmartSwitches so you
can setup the MC surface to match the way you work. You can even save
different SmartSwitch sets, called Application Sets, for different tasks
such as recording, editing and mixing. The MC comes with a default Pro
Tools Application Set as a starting point. |
|
 |
Customize Your Own Transport Control Set
Just above the trackball are 10 multi-colored SmartSwitches usually used
for transport controls. Map your favorite Pro Tools transport layout
to these SmartSwitches conveniently placed at your fingertips. |
|
 |
Built-In Shuttle and Jog Wheel
The MC has its own jog and shuttle wheel with 16 SmartSwitches close at
hand for Pro Tools functions you can access with you left hand. |
|
 |
4 Faders for Mixing Control
The 4 touch moving faders above the trackball can be used to control
Pro Tools track levels, assigned to the tracks you need to access
most when recording and editing. Use the touch screen to map
tracks to faders. There are also bank and nudge buttons within
easy reach. |
|
 |
Fader Layouts
Assign four tracks to the faders and save this as a Layout. Recall different
Layouts from the touch screen for different sections of the project you
are working on. One fader can be assigned as the Attention Fader so that
whenever you select a track in Pro Tools or from the touch screen that
fader automatically assigns to that track. |
|
 |
8 Knobs for Plug In Control
Pro Tools plug-ins can be mapped to the knobs on the MC for tweeking
using real controls rather than the trackball. When a plug-in is selected
from the MC the plug-in screen pops up on the Pro Tools screen. |
|
 |
Joystick control of Pro Tools
The MC can be supplied with twin motorized joysticks instead of the 4 faders.
This is the configuration usually fitted to a System 5-MC. The joysticks
control surround panning for a pair of Pro Tools tracks. |
|
 |
Touch Screen for Setup
The MC's touch screen is used for setup operations including mapping keyboard
shortcuts to SmartSwitches and tracks to faders. Pro Tools tracks
can also be soloed, muted and track armed. Setups can
be saved to the internal
disk
and off-loaded
to a USB drive connected
to
the back
of
the MC. |
|
 |
Lock
Sections of the MC can be locked in so that you can move to your Internet
Browser, for example, and still have the Pro Tools transport SmartSwitches
active - cool! |
|
 |
Surround Monitoring - Studio Monitor Express
The MC includes a control room and twin secondary monitor section for surround
sound monitoring using an external I/O solution such as Apogee Electronics
Ensemble or Symphony, or the RME Fireface 400 or 800. The Studio
Monitor Express software matrix offers 5.1 CR monitor, two alternate
CR monitors
(5.1 and stereo) plus
two stereo
SLS/headphone outputs as well as talkback from the MC's built-in mic. |
|
 |
Just add Faders to Mix - System
5-MC
Adding Fader modules and a frame to the MC turns it into a System
5-MC controller for serious Pro Tools mixing applications. And remember that
Apple's Logic Pro, Steinberg's Nuendo and Merging's Pyramix all support the EuCon
Protocol
for the ultimate in DAW integration. |
