Euphonix, a world leader in large-format mixing consoles
and control surfaces, announced today that World Wide Audio
has installed a 72-fader System 5 Mixing Console with EuCon
Hybrid DAW control for HDTV post production film mixing and
editing.
Dubbing itself the “biggest little post house in New
York City,” World Wide Audio offers a diverse array
of production services. From sound design and composition
to film mixing, from picture editing to print mastering World
Wide Audio is a one-stop-shop for professional audio and
video needs. What makes World Wide Audio even more unique
is its standing as the only private dub stage on the East
Coast with Dolby 5.1/7.1 approval and a permanent DTS mixing
facility. World Wide Audio is also an approved Dolby content
Provider.
“Until we came online, only large studios in Manhattan
had DTS and Dolby approved rooms. This meant only the big
budget films could afford to mix there, now World Wide Audio
offers the same great quality sound in our private facility
which allows for large scale films and broadcast projects,
as well as, smaller, independent projects - where sound quality is incredibly
important but the budget might not be there,” explained World Wide Audio
CEO, Georgia Hilton.
The Tribeca-based studio’s growing client based prompted
the need to update their facility’s audio gear. “I
wanted a mixing board that could not only meet but exceed
the increasing demands of our clientele; I needed a desk
that was fast, sophisticated and most importantly completely
versatile. After demoing the Euphonix it was obvious the
System 5 was the most logical choice,” continued Hilton. “We
have added HD/SDI support, and along with our multiple System
6000 units, a CEDER DNS2000 for the most advanced dialogue
cleaning in the world.”
“Our new Euphonix console is a dual-operator
mixing desk loaded with features that makes my job as a film
mixer easier. With the touch of a button the desk changes
from a full-on console to a full-on Pro Tools controller,” Hilton
further explained. World Wide Audio clients include
projects for HBO, Warner Films, Comedy Central, The National
Maritime Museum and Discovery HD.
The Euphonix System 5 is specifically designed for film
dubbing and HD surround sound audio post. Integrated transport
control for both audio and video machines and a remarkable
mix-automation system makes the console ideal for any post-production
facility. Surround sound is an integral part of the design.
Moreover, the system can be fitted with a film style monitoring
panel including pec-direct switched and joysticks. The
new EuCon Hybrid option for System 5, which now includes
Mac OSX compatibility, extends the control capabilities of
the console beyond the dedicated DSP Cores to the outside
world, bringing any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) tracks
onto the console surface for mixing. The DAWs communicate
with the console via the EuCon high-speed Ethernet control
protocol can seamlessly connects any DAW formats such as:
Pro Tools, Nuendo, and Logic Pro to the control surface.
