Euphonix, a world leader in large-format mixing consoles
and control surfaces, announced today the grand opening of
Pyntago, a new HD studio featuring a 32–fader Euphonix
System 5-MC. The studio, based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands,
is geared for HD audiovisual post productions and also serves
as an HD education center for professional and aspiring sound
engineers and producers. Furthermore Pyntago is one of the
leading production studios for Dressage Freestyle Music.
“Pyntago is a production studio with many different
clients and projects. For this reason we needed to design
a versatile environment where we would be able to change
studio and equipment configurations at the push of a button,” said
Olaf Ramak, co-owner of Pyntago. “Coming from different
platforms and various remotes we needed a solution that not
only tied them together, but also enabled us to accept bigger
and more complex productions. The Euphonix System 5-MC simply
does the job.”
The System 5-MC will control two Nuendo workstations via
EuCon, Euphonix’ high-speed, high-resolution Ethernet
control protocol.

Studio co-owner Martin Meinders first saw the sheer endless
possibilities of the system at a demo session in Germany
last year. “It was love at first sight,” he commented. “I
immediately knew this would be the tool we needed to further
realize our dreams. It’s only been a few weeks since
we installed our Euphonix and already we are seeing our investment
pay off.”
Pyntago also has the unique distinction of becoming a Certified
Euphonix Training Facility for the System 5-MC. Pyntago Partners,
Meinders and Ramak offer in-depth, hands-on Euphonix training
classes and one-on-one lessons for those wanting to learn
and practice the Euphonix System.
“Our background is music production and education.
We have been training engineers and producers since 1999;
from young, enthusiastic wannabees to established professionals.
At that time, the step from analog to digital required a
new and different approach to training. Our courses helped
studios to embrace the new digital workflow,” said
Meinders. “Based on experience and education we can
offer a different approach and insight in working with the
Euphonix EuCon system and more generally remote controlled
HD studios.”
“Having mixed on all the major consoles and DAW’s
over the years, we know the problems and the workarounds.
With the Euphonix System 5-MC, a lot of those workarounds
become obsolete,” explained Ramak. “We
were able to improve our workflow beyond our own expectations.
Now our goal is to share this knowledge with other Euphonix
owners.”
Pyntago Studios makes for a remarkable total of 12 new Euphonix
installations to have hit Europe’s Benelux- a name
given to the area comprised of Belgium, the Netherlands,
and Luxembourg- region in the past year.
“Sales in the Benelux region just exploded this past
year,” commented Mark Hosking, Sales Manager for Euphonix. “Euphonix
has supplied a total of seven MC/S5-MC controllers in the
Netherlands alone and then another five in Belgium.”
“Such growth signifies a major acceptance of the Euphonix
as a workstation controller for all the major workstations.
With the likes of leading Dutch studios John Meijer, Martijn
Schimmer, Cybersonic, PAT Sound Studios, and now Pyntago
all enjoying real benefits of EuCon to enhance their workflow
and harness the power of their workstations, Euphonix has
captured the imagination.” explained Hosking. “In
Belgium Studio L'Equipe have a 16 fader System 5-MC installed
in their foley theatre while renowned classical & jazz
recording studio Odeon 120 and the new recording studio,
Ferme du Biereau, have installed theirs for music production
and mixing.”
The Euphonix MC workstation control surface is equipped
with full sized keyboard with trackball and jog wheel for
standard operations, 56 LCD SmartSwitches, 4 faders, 9 rotary
controls plus a monitoring section for the ultimate in extended
control. Using the innovative EuCon high-speed protocol the
MC can control any DAW application such
as Pro Tools, Nuendo, Digital Performer, Logic Pro, Pyramix,
Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer and Avid Express. Moreover
the MC works with both PC and Macintosh platforms. |
