20th Anniversary

Working from a garage in Silicon Valley, the company’s founders began designing a digitally controlled analog audio mixing console. The company was named Euphonix from the combination of the words ‘Euphony’ - a pleasant or sweet sound, and ‘Mix’.

The Crescendo features a digital control surface and analog electronics housed remotely from the surface - a totally new design concept that allows a mix engineer to work in the audio "sweet spot" - and achieves some of the best audio specifications ever seen in an analog console.

The CSII is introduced and includes innovative new features like SnapShot Recall™ of all parameters and extensive dynamic automation of faders, aux sends, switches and pans.

The famed CS2000 boasts the industry’s first interactive EQ and Dynamics graphs on the screen and offers a set of patented assignable knobs mapped directly to the on-screen graphics for controlling console parameters.

The revolutionary System 5 is the world's first 24-bit/96kHz large format digital console and is capable of supporting over 300 full feature audio channels. Since its inception, four of the last six Oscar winners for “Best Sound Mixing” were mixed on System 5 consoles.

Euphonix introduces EuCon, an innovative high-speed Ethernet protocol that allows a hardware control surface to directly communicate any software applications/workstations simultaneously that support EuCon, HUI or Mackie Control protocols.

Euphonix ships the MC Pro- a professional control surface that can be used standalone or incorporated into Euphonix’s large format consoles to deliver the ultimate in extended control of audio/video applications and workstations. Adding System 5 channel strips for audio mixing turns the MC pro into the System 5-MC integrated DAW controller.

2008

First affordable high-speed Ethernet based controllers, aimed at the personal studio, to be able to control multiple applications and multiple workstations.

The Artist Series product line opens up a new world of possibilities for controlling audio and video applications on a Mac, bringing professional control features to the personal studio.

Feature Films Mixed on Euphonix Pro Consoles

Hundreds of feature films have been mixed on Euphonix consoles and mixing teams working on Euphonix System 5 consoles have been nominated or won Oscars® for Sound Mixing every one of the last seven years. At the 2007 Oscar® ceremony the Dreamgirls mixing team working on a Euphonix System 5 mixing console at Todd-AO West won the Oscar® for Sound Mixing. The Bourne Ultimatum mix team, also working on a System 5 at Todd-AO, has just been nominated for a Sound Mixing Oscar®.
