MC Color offers unmatched control and integration with Apple's Color 1.5, providing colorists with high-resolution trackballs, trackwheels, touch-sensitive encoders and a host of programmable keys in a slim-line design. MC Color attaches to your Mac via Ethernet, and can be used as a standalone color grader, or together with other Euphonix media controllers to build a larger, integrated video editing control surface.
MC Color is a color grading surface that offers unmatched control and integration with Apple's Color 1.5. The slim-line MC Color attaches to the Mac via Ethernet, and features high-resolution optical trackballs, trackwheels, displays, encoders and a host of programmable keys to speed up and enhance the Apple Color workflow.
Unlike other generic color grading surfaces, MC Color offers an ergonomic design and a host of features that have been specifically designed for Apple Color, providing deep integration and plug-and play operation.
MC Color's compact design is portable enough for on-set grading, and can be combined with other Euphonix media controllers to build a larger, integrated video editing control surface.
MC Color features EuCon™, a high-speed Ethernet control protocol developed by Euphonix that Apple has natively integrated into the new Final Cut Studio, including Color 1.5, Final Cut Pro and Soundtrack Pro. EuCon is a highly intelligent protocol and constantly aware in which room of Color the user is working, automatically updating MC Color's controls and displays, including the nine programmable soft keys, to present the parameters specific to the current room.
Video and audio applications which include EuCon, HUI or Mackie Control protocol include:
Artist Series media controllers allow you to cycle through applications and even switch between multiple workstations.
Multiple Applications
The EuCon control protocol is application aware, automatically changing the surface controls and displays to match the application in focus. Although MC Color has been specifically designed to control Apple Color, users can program its Soft Keys to control other applications like Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro and more, as well as use the center trackball as a mouse.
Multiple Workstations
MC Color can connect to and control multiple Mac OS X computers on the network that have the EuCon Client application installed, with all surface controls, as well as keyboard and mouse commands, automatically forwarded to control the selected workstation.
MC Color offers three high-resolution optical trackballs and trackwheels, as well as six touch-sensitive rotary encoders, to adjust multiple Color parameters simultaneously. These controls automatically change their function as you navigate between the rooms in Color, controlling everything from color values and contrast sliders to vignette parameters and pan and scan position.
Six reset buttons allow you to quickly reset parameter values modified by the trackballs and trackwheels, while pressing the knob top resets encoder parameters, and six high-resolution OLED displays provide you with detailed feedback of parameter names, values and much more.
The Bank 1 and Bank 2 Keys let you switch assignment of these controls between different parameters within the same room in Color to give you even more hands-on control without your hands ever leaving the surface. MC Color also features eight dedicated Copy and Paste Grade Keys that allow you to quickly copy and paste up to four different grades from one clip to another.
MC Color not only provides you with high-resolution control over grading parameters, but also enables quick navigation of Color's rooms and Secondaries via the NAV Key. Pressing the NAV Key displays the room names across the six OLED displays, and you can jump to any room by simply pressing the top of the corresponding knob below each display. Pressing the NAV Key in conjunction with the Shift Key allows you to navigate the six Secondaries in the same way.
MC Color also features dedicated transport controls for play, stop, forward, backward, next clip and previous clip for effortless navigation of your project. The center trackball can even be toggled on the fly to work as a mouse, with the Reset buttons functioning as left and right click.
MC Color features nine programmable Soft Keys that automatically change their function as you navigate the various rooms in Color. MC Color ships with the most used functions for each room preprogrammed to these keys, but you can easily customize these keys with any function, macro or key injection command via the onscreen Soft Key Editor. You can press the Show Key at any time to instantly display the functionality of the Soft Keys for the current room.
MC Color is designed to work as a standalone color grader, or together with other Euphonix media controllers to build a larger, integrated video editing control surface.
Artist Series media controllers clip together or can be situated anywhere on the network as each has its own Ethernet connection.
