Euphonix has announced that the MC Transport and MC Color Media Controllers have been awarded the "red dot award: product design 2010" by Germany's Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen. This is the second red dot award won by Artist Series Media Controllers, with MC Mix and MC Control having received the award in 2008.

The "red dot award: product design" is a world-class award presented to products released over the past two years that exhibit superiority of design in terms of a total of nine aspects, including innovation, functionality, ergonomics, ecology and durability. A total of 4,252 products from 57 nations took part in the "red dot award: product design 2010" competition. Winners will be on display from July 6 to August 1, 2010 at the red dot design museum on the premises of the Zeche Zollverein World Cultural Heritage Site in Essen Germany.

MC Transport is a compact media controller that features an ultra-high resolution optical jog wheel and shuttle ring, ergonomic transport controls, programmable soft keys and integrated numeric keypad to deliver comprehensive, one-handed control of any media application. The new MC Color offers unmatched control and integration with Apple’s Color 1.5, providing colorists with high-resolution trackballs, trackwheels, touch-sensitive encoders and a host of programmable keys in a slim-line design. Each media controller connects to the Mac via Ethernet and can be used either standalone or connected to additional controllers to create a larger, integrated control surface.

Euphonix has worked closely with the world’s leading software developers like Apple, Steinberg, MOTU and others to deeply integrate native support of its EuCon Ethernet control protocol into their media applications to provide high-resolution, high-speed control over almost all software functions for an unmatched editing and mixing experience. EuCon also supports the HUI and Mackie Control protocols for even greater flexibility, at a faster speed and higher resolution than other controllers.
